A Midwinter Night's Dream

A Midwinter Night’s Dream is a fiber collection spun from shadow and stillness.  Designed to capture the quiet magic of the cold months and the deep lore of winter. Built on dark grey wool sourced through American wool pools and supplied by RH Lindsay, each colorway is overdyed to reveal layered depth, like light glinting off snow through a forest of bare trees. These hues aren’t flashy, they’re glowing embers, frozen ponds, and the velvet hush of a world in hibernation.

 

This collection is rooted in folklore and seasonality, inspired by the mythic reign of the Oak King, the spirit of winter in Celtic tradition, and balanced by its summer sibling, A Midsummer Night’s Dream. Together, they celebrate the solstice turning points, but Midwinter is the introspective half: moody, elegant, and richly colored. Every braid tells a story of quiet transformation, of nature resting and dreaming, of color made deeper by shadow.
