Cocoapuff is our only goat not named for a Pokemon. When she came to us she would respond to her name so we kept it. She is clever and determined often passing up the leaves on the ground for the leaves high up on the branches.
Purrloin was named Praline when she came to us and the boys thought it sounded most like the Pokemon Purrloin. She is reliable and loyal always aware of everything is happening in the backyard.
Leafeon is shy and independent. Named for the verdant Pokemon. She is often off doing her own thing but then when she realizes she is away from the herd she looks to join them.
Sunflora is perceptive and prudent. Named for the sun Pokemon. She is content to chew her cud and let the others explore the wide world. Mother of Frodo.
Shaymin is optimistic and gracious. Named for the gratitude Pokemon. She is always on the lookout for something good to eat. Mother to Samwise.
Frodo is clever and venturesome. Named for the brave Hobbit. He is often out exploring on his own. Son to Sunflora.
Samwise is friendly and good-natured. Named for the companion Hobbit. He is content to sit in your lap all afternoon. Son to Shaymin.
Meet the Shepherdess
As a kid I was always drawing, coloring, and painting. I loved (and still do) Disney, Jim Henson, and the whimsical ocean art of Wyland. My dream was to become a Disney animator but as computer animation took over the industry I translated my love of story telling arts to theater and attended SUNY Purchase for Theatrical Set Design. While attending I was lucky enough to begin an internship at the Jim Henson Company which turned into a job after graduation. I worked on costumes (Big Bird, Samson, Abelardo) and props (Cookie Monster's cookie, letter of the day, grouch food) for Sesame Street for 5 years and received 3 Emmy Awards. I am now a wife, mother, backyard farmer, and fiber artist.
